China 240-Hour Transit: Preliminary Route/Time Check
Check an ordinary passport, planned routing and scheduled times before booking. Choose the actual countries/regions in your Immediate Country/Region A → Mainland China → Immediate Country/Region C route.
Use China Standard Time (UTC+08:00) for both fields, regardless of your device time zone. The allowance starts at 00:00 the day after arrival and runs for 10 days. The actual stay permitted by border inspection controls.
Select your passport, route and scheduled times
Preliminary route/time check only: This tool checks the 57-country ordinary-passport list, whether the immediate countries/regions A and C differ, and the scheduled stay window. It does not guarantee boarding or entry. Airlines decide boarding; border inspection authorities decide entry and the permitted stay.
Not checked: passport type and remaining validity (at least 3 months), confirmed onward ticket and seat, permission to enter the next country/region, approved entry and exit ports, permitted travel areas within the 24 provinces, purpose of travel, entry history and other restrictions, or actual border-clearance times. The city selector is a guide shortcut, not verification of any of the 65 ports.
Other exemptions: 30-day, bilateral and other visa-free policies are not assessed here. A route that fails this 240h check may qualify under another policy; consult current official guidance separately.
Hong Kong & Macau tip: Hong Kong SAR, Macau SAR, and Taiwan count as separate regions (valid Country/Region A or C) under transit rules. A journey from your home country into Mainland China and exiting to Hong Kong satisfies the A → China → C routing condition.
Official sources: NIA transit policy — 2026-08-20 (57 countries, 65 ports); NIA counting rule: starts at 00:00 the day after entry. Policies may change; reconfirm before travel.
